<p>With SOARVO, we structure your data as Projects and Locations</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Projects</h2>

<p>Think of a Project as a collection of Locations that share a common thread. </p>

<p>It could be the same client, the same type of survey, or the same asset type.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Locations</h2>

<p>A Location is a specific site that can host multiple datasets. </p>

<p>For instance, one Location might include an orthomosaic, several point clouds, a mesh, and more.</p>

<p>Note. Each location within a project must use the same co-ordinate system.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Creating Projects and Locations</h2>

<p>Once you have logged into Soarvo &#8211; click the New Project button to begin creating a space to load data</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="535" height="175" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3588" style="width:243px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image.png 535w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-300x98.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-50x16.png 50w" sizes="(max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px" /></figure>

<p>Lets begin with the <strong>Project</strong> <strong>Details</strong></p>

<p>Give your project a name, select its Project Category, appropriate co-ordinate system the data has been stored in, and select your measurement units.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="592" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-1024x592.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3911" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-1024x592.png 1024w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-300x173.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-768x444.png 768w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-50x29.png 50w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-1536x887.png 1536w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-37-2048x1183.png 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Projects can have a category based on what type of data you wish to load into it, to make it easily identifiable on the Home Screen. Choose from General, Drone, Survey, Mobile Mapping or GIS.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="478" height="370" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-38.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3912" style="width:308px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-38.png 478w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-38-300x232.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-38-50x39.png 50w" sizes="(max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px" /></figure>

<p>Now for the <strong>Location Details</strong></p>

<p>You can click the Check Box to create a new location at the same time as the project.</p>

<p>Give the location a name and click the map icon next to Co-ordinates</p>

<p>This allows you to choose the general location of the site that can be displayed on a map</p>

<p>You can click the search icon in the top right hand corner of that window to search for an address, postcode or landmark</p>

<p>Once you have clicked the location on the map, the Latitude and Longitude will be entered in the form. This is so the Location has a general reference on the map view.</p>

<p>Then click <strong>Go to Project</strong> to continue</p>

<p></p>

<p>You will then see the Location in the directory. Click on it to begin uploading data</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="542" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39-1024x542.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3913" style="width:632px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39-1024x542.png 1024w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39-300x159.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39-768x407.png 768w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39-50x26.png 50w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-39.png 1513w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The home screen displays the directory view of the Projects and Locations</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="555" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-1024x555.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3928" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-1024x555.png 1024w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-300x163.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-768x416.png 768w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-50x27.png 50w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-1536x832.png 1536w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-41-2048x1109.png 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>However you can also switch to a Map view at the top of the screen to see the Locations on a map</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="579" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-1024x579.png" alt="" class="wp-image-3930" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-1024x579.png 1024w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-300x170.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-768x435.png 768w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-50x28.png 50w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-1536x869.png 1536w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/image-42-2048x1159.png 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Select from RGB, Intensity, Classification or Elevation</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="483" height="730" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-18.png" alt="" class="wp-image-6649" style="width:263px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-18.png 483w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-18-198x300.png 198w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-18-33x50.png 33w" sizes="(max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px" /></figure>

<p>If you choose classification you also get the option to Show the Classification Panel and select which classifications are visible. Note, you must classify the point cloud before uploading into Soarvo for this function to work.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="430" height="180" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-19.png" alt="" class="wp-image-6650" style="width:265px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-19.png 430w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-19-300x126.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-19-50x21.png 50w" sizes="(max-width: 430px) 100vw, 430px" /></figure>

<p>For elevation choose absolute height or relative height bands and choose a height range.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="478" height="571" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-20.png" alt="" class="wp-image-6651" style="width:260px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-20.png 478w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-20-251x300.png 251w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-20-42x50.png 42w" sizes="(max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px" /></figure>

<p>This will display data colourised by its height value</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="550" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21-1024x550.png" alt="" class="wp-image-6652" style="width:485px;height:auto" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21-1024x550.png 1024w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21-300x161.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21-768x413.png 768w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21-50x27.png 50w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/image-21.png 1252w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>The lower the <strong>Performance Accelerator</strong> number the more dense the point cloud displays.</p>

<p>Please note that this could effect browser performance using large scale point clouds</p>

<p>You can also adjust the size of the cubes to give you a more complete view of your point cloud data.</p>

<p>Once happy with the viewing settings click the <strong>Panels</strong> button again to hide the settings box.</p>

<p>SOARVO allows you to take measurements and calculate volumes within your data</p>

<p><strong>Volume Calculation</strong></p>

<p>Create a polygon feature in the Feature Panel and draw around the stock pile you wish to measure</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="668" height="389" src="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/image-7.png" alt="" class="wp-image-6672" srcset="https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/image-7.png 668w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/image-7-300x175.png 300w, https://soarvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/image-7-50x29.png 50w" sizes="(max-width: 668px) 100vw, 668px" /></figure>

<p>Once the polygon is drawn go to the Select Mode in the Feature Panel and select the polygon you have drawn.</p>
